Dear Liberty Families,
We are looking forward to kicking off another fantastic year at Liberty. If you are new to our Liberty community, I wanted to share a little bit of information about myself with you. This is my 11th year in District 202, and my second year as the principal at Liberty. Prior to coming to Liberty, I served as the assistant principal at Eichelberger for four years and I was a first grade teacher at Freedom Elementary. In addition, I also taught kindergarten and pre-K at a private school in Lisle just after college. I attended North Central College in Naperville for both my undergrad and masters programs. I have a BA in Elementary Education with a concentration in Psychology and a MA in Educational Leadership and Administration. I am a lifelong Plainfield resident and I also attended Plainfield schools as well. Though I do not yet have any children of my own, I have two dogs that keep me quite busy when I am at home. In my free time, I enjoy vacationing and I like to run half marathons for my “me” time.
My mission is to foster a safe, nurturing, and individualized, educational environment that maximizes and promotes the highest potential for all stakeholders. I am a strong believer in communication and collaboration, promoting student growth and success, fostering positive attitudes to create a culture that is welcoming for all, and utilizing data and professional development to strengthen instruction. I personally believe that family involvement is absolutely essential. I welcome and value your input. Please feel free to contact me if you ever have any questions or concerns. I’m looking forward to another wonderful year!
